Who are we?

NeevJivan Foundation is an NGO working with a focus on Skill Development & Vocational Training for tribal community in rural Maharashtra.

What do we do?

It is our endeavour to create alternate sources of income and opportunities for sustainable livelihood for them in their villages so that they do not have to migrate to the cities in search of greener pastures.

Why?

Agriculture is the primary source of income for the people living here.

However, due to scarcity of water, they run one crop cycle through the year which is the reason for monthly household income (MHI) as low as Rs. 5,000/-. This is not enough to run a household and that is the reason for their migration to cities in search of greener pastures.

How?

Over a period of time, we have streamlined our operations and adopted a 5 – pronged approach to help the women start their micro business ventures in their villages.

a.Technical training on vocation of choice

b.Module on Entrepreneurship Skills

c.Facilitate access to seed capital

d.Help set up the work shop (procurement of machinery, raw materials, packaging, branding, etc)

e.Support for 12 months to stabilise their operations including market connect

We teach over 20 vocations in association with our knowledge partners.

Where?

Our work is currently spread across 50 villages in Jawhar, Dahanu in Palghar and Igatpuri, Niphad, Trimbakeshwar in Nashik districts of Maharashtra.

Today!!

Over 450 tribal women and youth are successfully running 45 micro business ventures in their villages in rural Maharashtra…giving them the financial independence and ability to support their families.

Presenting “Neev”, a platform that brings together all the women entrepreneurs supported by NeevJivan Foundation to help them reach out to the world.
