The Godavari river flowing in the Nashik district has been struggling with an unprecedented overgrowth of water hyacinth, a very invasive weed that chokes the river thereby making it almost impossible for the aquatic flora and fauna to grow.

The women staying at the Chondori village situated on the banks of the river devised ways to use the dried stems of the water hyacinth to make hand crafted products which are marketed under the brand name "Waterweave".

By buying this eco friendly hand crafted product, you are not only helping the aquatic flora and fauna in the river to survive , but also creating an opportunity for livelihood for the women for whom this is a step towards self-reliance!
